Abstract

Bifid mandibular canal is a rare condition that has been reported by researchers in different countries. According to the present data, comprehensive evaluation of such cases has not been yet performed in Iran. It seems that examination of patient with bifid mandibular canal has its own scientific importance. This is a case of a 35 years old man who referred to Shiraz Dental School for routine dental treatment. Panoramic radiograph of the patient showed a bilateral ascending accessory manibular canal. According to the complications of such an anomaly like inadequate anesthesia in the affected side, infringing of wisdom teeth in the accessory canal, bleeding, traumatic nuroma, etc and due to rarity of such cases this case was selected to be reported as a case-report.Key words: Bifid Mandibular Canal- Panoramic Radiography- Cross Sectional CT Scan
